At CarouselKit, privacy isn't an afterthought — it's a principle we build upon. We believe your creative work and personal data belong to you, and only you. This Privacy Policy outlines how we honour that commitment every time you open the App.

What We Collect

We operate on a simple philosophy: collect nothing unless absolutely essential to your experience.

• Your Photos & Media — When you bring images into your designs, they never leave your device. Every edit, every filter, every pixel stays entirely in your hands. We have zero access to your creative library.
• Camera — If you choose to capture directly within the App, what you shoot remains yours alone. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored beyond your device.
• Subscription Status — Your purchases are handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store's secure infrastructure. We never see your card details, billing address, or financial information — only a simple confirmation that your subscription is active.
• Notifications — Entirely optional. If you choose to stay in the loop, we'll let you know when fresh templates and features arrive. One toggle in Settings turns them off, no questions asked.
• Anonymous Device Details — Basic information like device model and OS version helps us ensure the App runs flawlessly on your device. This data is never linked to your identity.

What We Will Never Do

This is our promise — not a legal formality, but a commitment we stand behind:

• We will never collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers
• We will never track where you are or where you've been
• We will never monitor how you use the App or build behavioural profiles
• We will never embed third-party trackers, ad networks, or analytics tools
• We will never create shadow profiles or fingerprint your device
• We will never sell, license, or trade your data — to anyone, for any reason, ever

How Your Data Serves You

The minimal information we access exists for one purpose: to make CarouselKit exceptional for you.

• Creating — Your imported photos power the designs you build, processed entirely on-device
• Unlocking — Your subscription status ensures seamless access to premium templates and features
• Staying Informed — Notifications keep you ahead of new releases, only when you want them
• Perfecting — Anonymous device data helps us eliminate bugs and optimise every interaction

Where Your Data Lives

Everything you create — every project, every design, every saved template — lives on your device and nowhere else. There are no cloud servers storing your work, no remote databases cataloguing your preferences, no backups we control.

Your subscription is managed through your Apple ID. We rely on Apple's secure StoreKit framework to verify your status locally, without transmitting personal details.

If you ever remove CarouselKit from your device, all local data is permanently erased. Your subscription can be managed independently through Apple ID settings.

Third-Party Integrations

We partner with exactly two services — both from Apple:

• Apple StoreKit — Processes purchases and subscriptions with Apple's world-class security. Your financial data is handled entirely by Apple under their Privacy Policy.
• Apple Push Notifications — Delivers updates to your device when you've opted in. Notification tokens are managed by Apple and never stored on our end.

That's it. No Facebook SDK. No Google Analytics. No Mixpanel. No Adjust. No exceptions.

When We Might Share Information

We don't share personal information. In rare, exceptional circumstances, disclosure may occur:

• Legal Obligation — If compelled by law, court order, or regulatory authority, we may disclose information to the extent required
• Protection — To safeguard the rights, property, or safety of CarouselKit and its users, as permitted by law
• Business Transition — In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, user information may transfer as part of that transaction, with advance notice to all users

Protecting Younger Users

CarouselKit is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has shared personal information with us, please reach out immediately. We will act swiftly to remove any such data.

Security by Design

Your data doesn't travel through the internet, sit on vulnerable servers, or pass through third-party pipelines. It stays on your device, protected by Apple's industry-leading security architecture:

• Hardware-level encryption built into every Apple device
• Biometric protection through Face ID and Touch ID
• Device passcode safeguards
• iOS App Sandboxing — isolating your data from other applications

By keeping everything local, we've eliminated the most common attack vectors entirely. Your data can't be breached on servers we don't operate.

Your Rights & Control

You are in complete control of your data at every moment:

• Access — Your data is on your device, accessible to you anytime
• Delete — Remove any project within the App, or uninstall to erase everything
• Opt Out — Disable notifications with a single toggle in device Settings
• Manage Subscription — Cancel, modify, or renew through your Apple ID at any time

For Users Worldwide

CarouselKit serves creators across the globe. Since no personal data ever leaves your device, there are no cross-border transfers, no international data flows, and no jurisdictional complications. Your data stays exactly where you are.

California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what data is collected and to opt out of its sale. Since we collect no personal information and sell nothing, these rights are inherently fulfilled. You have nothing to opt out of because there is nothing to opt out from.

European Residents (GDPR)

For users within the European Economic Area, CarouselKit fully complies with the General Data Protection Regulation. With no personal data processed on external servers, no data controllers beyond your own device, and no cross-border transfers, your rights under GDPR are met by the fundamental design of our App.

Policy Evolution

As CarouselKit grows, this policy may evolve with it. Any updates will be reflected here with a revised effective date. We encourage periodic review, though we assure you — our commitment to your privacy will only strengthen, never weaken.
